History of the Ville Tuscolane

"Ville Tuscolane" refers to a group of historic residences built, mostly from the 16th century onward and over the two following centuries, on the slopes of the Colli Albani overlooking the ancient city of Tusculum. Cardinals, popes and prominent Roman families chose them as summer retreats, valuing their cooler climate compared to Rome, their proximity to the city and the quality of the surrounding landscape.
